Since its release on August 10, the film’s box office performance has been nothing short of astounding. Remarkably, within just 10 days of its debut, Rajinikanth’s action-packed film “Jailer” has soared to an impressive ₹500 crore in global earnings. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan confirms that “Jailer” now joins the exclusive league of Tamil films that have surpassed the ₹500 crore milestone, standing alongside the likes of “2.0” (2018) and “Ponniyin Selvan: I” (2022).
Initial estimates indicate that “Jailer” secured approximately ₹18 crore nett from all languages in India on its tenth day. This Tamil cinematic marvel, which has been effectively dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, opened with a combined collection of ₹48.35 crore nett on August 10. Impressively, it has since amassed around ₹263.9 crore nett in India alone. A noteworthy surge in earnings was observed on Saturday, with a net collection of ₹18 crore, following a solid ₹10.05 crore on Friday. In its inaugural week, “Jailer” had already clinched a total of ₹235.85 crore nett in India across all languages.
Equally noteworthy is the film’s international performance at the box office. “Jailer,” featuring the charismatic Rajinikanth, now joins the esteemed ranks of Tamil cinema’s ₹500 crore club, securing its place alongside other celebrated names. Impressively, it claims the position of the second-fastest film to attain this feat, a distinction shared only with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar’s “2.0.”
Sharing the exhilarating news, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan took to Twitter alongside a captivating poster of “Jailer,” showcasing Rajinikanth. His tweet reads, “BREAKING: Jailer hits ₹500 crore. Jailer BREACHES ₹500 crore elite club at the worldwide box office in just 10 days. Becomes the THIRD movie from Tamil cinema to enter this club after 2.0 and Ponniyin Selvan: I. Also, the SECOND fastest movie after 2.0, which entered (₹500 crore club) in seven days.”
